Road Construction
New style roads do not get constructed by citizens.

Fixed.

Patent Development
Patent development results are limited by the Q of the patents that are required.

That limitation no longer applies to patent development.

Non-free Blueprints
Non-free blueprints are still showing up on the construction window.

Non-free blueprints are supposed to only show up if you are the architect. That is fixed.

I really enjoyed the last picture thread from the old server. Always fun to see what people are able to find/accomplish/make.

Anyway, I guess I can kick things off with a few of my own pictures.

I wanted to RP a bit. And I decided to take a shuttle down to a planet as an "away" party. But since I didn't have any troops, and wanted to keep my crew crewing.
I decided to venture off on foot. I think the trip was well worth it for this amazing view.

On another moon, around another planet.
My moonbase was going great! With an awesome view of my homeplanet.
That white line on the homeplanet, is my intercontinental highway. All in order to find oil. Which I did find.

But, unfortunately, I ended up building inside a crater. So I couldn't really see it from the colony itself.

And back to the homeplanet again, even made a map of the intercontinental highway. Which I'm somewhat proud of. :P

And this was one of the ships I managed to build. So huge thanks for the author. Whose name escapes me at the moment.
But this Shuttle was able to take me to the moon, and beyond.

  5% fuel reserve on harvest appears to not work

Server Load Distribution
Servers are running an experimental configuration to insure movement does not get bogged down when lots of threads are busy.

Building Terrain Error
An error in a bit of cached data is causing terrain to grade incorrectly under buildings.

This is fixed so I decided to post it since the servers were getting restarted anyway.

System survey report database and filter for Shores of Hazeron.

Introduction
My name is Deantwo and here is another one of my small open-source C# projects.
Took me a while to figure out how to read the StarMap XML, but it paid off!
I have taken a lot of my inspiration from Hazeron Scouter, so some credit goes to OhiraKyou.

What is it
HazeronProspector is a system survey reader, it can show all the resources in a system.
Still a lot of polish needed, so the to-do list is a little long. But it works!

Requirements

  • .Net Framework v4.7.2
    (Standard on windows)

How to use
Export StarMap XML:
  1. Log into Hazeron with your character
  2. Open the Locator window (F7)
  3. Go to the Star Map tab
  4. Click the "Query Space Map..." button
  5. Click the "Save Starmap" button
  6. Choose a location for the .xml file that you will be able to find later

Features
  • Support for multiple galaxies
  • Select a surveyed system from a dropdown box or type in coordinates
  • SystemWide mode to simply show systems and their best quality for each system rather than each planet/zone
  • Get system surveys for all systems within range of a specific system, either search by persec distance or wormhole jumps
  • Color coded table

Planned
  • Customizable color ranges
  • Column viability menu
  • Save user setting
  • (Any ideas?)

I'd love some feedback and ideas.

I need an .ico icon similar to the ones used in HazeronAdviser and HazeronWatcher.
Maybe an inferno planet, with a clipboard or sensor icon.

  Primitive Weapons

It has long been that there is only 1 handmade, primitove weapon in Hazeron: the Knife.  The Knife has little reach, and no range, making it tricky to go hunting wild beasts with, and only suitable for stabbing other players in the back.

Why no bow?  Why no spears, or swords?  2 or 3 more items wouldn't make too much clutter, would it?

We currently have ringworlds, which we can find randomly spread out across the galaxies. But they can't have been the only mega-structures that survived the test of time.

I simply propose O'Neill Cylinders as a new rare planet type. Allowing them to rarely spawn in place of planets. Or rarely a system could have no planets and instead have a number of O'Neill Cylinders orbiting the star, similar to a ringworld system.

Since they are kinda an inverted world, landing a spacecraft in them is the biggest issue I see. Either they are so big that a spacecraft can fly in through holes in the ends of the cylinder and land like normal, or they only allow you to get in via external docking ports with turbo lifts that take you inside.

What do you guys think? How do you think O'Neill Cylinders could work in Hazeron? Would they even have a use?

Suffocation in Turbo Lift
Turbo lift sometimes leaves me behind, suffocating in an empty area of the hull.

This bug is tentatively fixed. I beat it to death on the debug servers until I no longer suffocated in the turbo lift. We'll see if this works on the public servers.

The bug could have caused a number of strange desync problems, such as...

  • Leaving orbit in a ship and suddenly finding your ship inside the planet, or sun.
  • Entering a vehicle and finding yourself miles above it, though somehow inside it.
  • Launching a fighter from a spacecraft and suddenly finding yourself at the bottom of the sea.
  • Boarding a sailboat and suddenly finding yourself in orbit, aboard the sailboat.
Drop Item
I found a bunch of random items on static display on a world. I got the impression they were dropped there.

Added a Drop action button to drop the current item. I surmised that a player used the Place button to drop their current item, which didn't really just drop it.

Excessive Building Updates
While examining the turbo lift desync bug, I discovered that new style buildings were triggering way too many updates to the client. This created a lot of unnecessary traffic from server to client on the network, a most precious resource.

Fixed.

Smoke Lockup
Some players reported the client locking up for no apparent reason.

Fixed a thread deadlock while rendering smoke at volcanoes and vents, caused by a recent change.  They smoke continuously now.
