The farm is the primary place for all plant and animal production. The only plant that can not be grown at a farm is trees, for that an orchard will have to be used.
Environment or Irrigation
Each item produced by farms have the option of using resources from the environment or artificial resources. Resources from the environment typically result in slower output, and sometimes lower quality. Water for irrigation may be used on colonies where natural resources are scarce or non-present.

Farm Animals
In order for a farm to manufacture animal products, the farm will require animals. A farm will automatically fetch animals from the environment of the world. If the environment does not have fauna, the farm will require a DNA Sample with valid animal DNA to be used at the farm.
Farm animals can also be used as mounts if they are big enough.
Animal Products
Manufacturing processes that create animal products will have their output quality depend on the corresponding product's quality in the resource zone and the feed used.
If using pasture, the fetch rate with depend on the foliage value of the farm's location and the quality of the feed quality is equal to the world's vegetation density quality.
Using pasture as feed is usually only good at the early stages, since using hay or silage is both much faster and allows for control over the resulting quality.
