Disks are used as a media for spacecraft designs, building designs, spacecraft missions, and officer logs.
It is possible to burn a disk with only one thing at a time, and once burned it becomes read-only.
Blank disks are made at a electronics factory using either metal or plastic.
This section is in need of revision. Please help improve it or discuss these issues on the talk page. The reason given is: New spacecraft designs have their own disk type. |
If a design was published as "Use Once" in the Spacecraft Exchange, the disk will be destroyed upon manufacture of the spacecraft.
Spacecraft design disks are created using a blank disk at a design studio.
After saving or loading a design in the design environment, a "Burn CD" button appears.
A spacecraft design disk can be used at a spacecraft factory and arena while held in the inventory.
Building design disks are created using a blank disk at a design studio.
After saving or loading a design in the design environment, a "Burn CD/Inscribe Drawing" button appears.
A building design disk can be sold to a design studio by the architect to publicize it for empire-wide usage, or it can be used by the holder while it is in their inventory.
Mission Disks can be created from aboard a spacecraft using the "Burn Mission Disk" button on the Spacecraft Mission window (F9).
The mission can then be loaded from the disk using the Load Mission and Add Mission options.
