Propane is a byproduct of oil refining. A refinery can produce propane from oil.

Since all manufacturing processes that use propane can easily be replaced with other resources or processes, it is mostly considered useless unless electricity isn't available.

A good use of propane can be converting it into hydrogen.

In the past, this was known as Natural Gas and was extracted directly from wells. This was changed in 2023.[1]

It is unknown whether the LP on the item stands for Liquefied Petroleum or Liquid Propane.
