Docking/Undocking Star Map crashes Windows Client

#1
I am able to crash the windows client fairly reliably by docking and/or undocking the star map.

Repro:
* Open Star Map (usually it starts as floating for me)
* Minimize or dock to an existing panel.  It might crash here right away.
* If it doesn't, drag it back out into the main screen to float it again. I've never made it this far without a crash.

Let me know what details I can provide.  I have reproduced this on two different computers.

New, related: Map breaks when it is shrunk to a small box via docking it.

How I got to this:
I was facing this issue as well and didn'y look hard enough for this thread befoer posting a bug report. Until I accidently (mouse doubleclicked the title bar) did manage to dock the map to the bottom of the screen without hte game crashing. The map became highly distorted. Everything looked like squished text instead of stars/ship crosshair. I decided to finish what I was doing and go do domething else for a bit and see if issue persists.
After starting the game back up, opening the map freezes the game for minutes or longer. I wasnn't patient enough to wait for it to unfreeze.

Save:

Opening map on either character freezes the game

Edit: It has been over an hour of the game being frozen.
I'm going to bed. Will check if it does anything in the morning.

This is on the Windows game (client) not Linux client
restarting the game does not fix it.
In fact, starting the new game(removing save data) doesn't fix it either, so the save will probalby not cause it.

Already did. Doesn't help.
The map is no longer docked. It is a window which is trying to render.
Now that I think about it, it actually didn't reset the window's position.
it was still attempting to render on my 2nd monitor.
Starting game 1 more time

Also tried unchecking locator allowed docking locations below the button.

Editr: Ok, So reseting window positions AND restarting the game fixed it.
The button could use a needs restart to take effect tooltip :)

I suggest also unchecking a lot if not all those check boxes underneath. Thst will prevent windows from docking. At the very least uncheck the Locator ones.

On a related note, having the map on a 2nd monitor and closing it there causes a freeze of the game when you open it later. It's very similar to the one caused by docking it.
I have a suspicion it happens when the automatic query happens.

It doesn't cause crashes for me, but I've noticed docking the starmap appears to cause some texture corruption, when I docked it earlier I saw it replace all of the icons with the EV suit texture file:

I've also seen it pick the texture for the old pressurized road button, so guessing there's some image shenanigans happening here
