This is definitely not bread. Theses are recipes for buns, you can surely make hamburger with it, but not sandwiches.
So someone was just nice enough to explain to me that French people have a very different and strict definition for what is and isn't "bread". So this is just a translation issue, the bread recipe is not broken, you just have a different definition of what bread is.

This is why custom designed food items would be a lot more interesting. In before we all start arguing about what is more correct: "burger" verse "patty", "hotdog" verse "sausage" verse "wiener", "soda" verse "pop", and so on. Or worse, the recipes for each food item.
