Geological features exist on worlds and can be seen listed on the world map. The geological features don't serve any specific purpose outside of interesting landmarks.
Craters can also be formed dynamically when explosive weaponry is used on the surface of a world, but these are not considered geological features. See Dynamic Crater for details.
Toxic Smoke
Fissures and volcanoes release toxic smoke that causes suffocation damage.[1]
