There are a number of community made applications and spread sheets available to try and help players with some of the more complex mechanics or maths of the game.

City Planner Spreadsheet
Spread sheet to help calculate population and morale buildings needed for a nice city.
Colony Calculator
The Colony Calculator is a useful tool to calculate the needed materials to bring when building a new colony. It can also help with figuring out the needed morale buildings needed by a city's population in order to keep it happy.
Original design and code by Raumkraut. Current maintainer IceDown.
HazeronAdviser
HazeronAdviser is a simple little program written in C# that scans through all your HMails that are locally saved on your computer.
Once loaded it is able to nicely list all your cities and ships, and then point you to the ones that require your attention.
System Survey
Galactic Dossier
Galactic Dossier is a Java based starmap parsing program. It allows you to filter through all of Hazeron's resources to find what you need. It uses exported starmap data.
Galactiscan
This is an open source Python utility for parsing survey reports out of the game's starmap, storing them in a database, and querying that database.
Hazeron Scouter
Hazeron Scouter is a planet and system scan viewer and the spiritual successor to Hazeron Survey Handler, now with one less acronym letter! What does the scouter say about your tech level?
HazeronProspector
HazeronProspector is a system survey reader, it can show all the resources in a system.
Still a lot of polish needed, so the to-do list is a little long. But it works!

Shores Offline Design Studio
Shores (of Hazeron) Offline Design Studio, Commonly referred to as SODS, is a CAD spacecraft designer.
Misc
HazeronWatcher
HazeronWatcher is a simple little program written in C# that monitors the Players Online page.
It shows all players in a list and then allows you to set colors for each of them according to diplomatic relationship.
You can also set a player to "Watch", which will make the program notify you when he/she comes online.
HMail to EMail Conversion Script
This is a set of scripts to convert Hazeron mail cache into regular emails you can load in your mail program, or process with tools like procmail.
