The hull is what makes up the majority of a spacecraft. It can be made of either metal, magmium, vulcium or adamantine, but will also always consist of some plastic and electronic parts.
The hull includes the armor of the spacecraft, more armor means a more expensive and heavier hull, but also more HP. The hull takes the majority of spacecraft damage.
The hull "subsystem" of a spacecraft also includes the Hold and Fuel Cell. These are repaired with the same material.
If the hull of a spacecraft reaches 0% durability, the spacecraft will be destroyed.
Hull Types
The type of hull can be selected in the designer, when finalizing the design.
In addition, in the Module Upgrade menu, you are able to request upgrades to an existing ship's hull, for example to upgrade it to a Vulcium Hull.
Metal Hull
Has the default grey tile texture.
...
Magmium Hull
Has an orange version of the tile texture.
...
Vulcium Hull
Has a green version of the tile texture.
