Some firewalls have revealed to have problems with Shores of Hazeron.
Avast!
The Avast! program is known to quietly cause failure of some Shores of Hazeron communications.
The game seems to run fine for a few minutes, then certain things stop working. The player is unable to open/close doors, cycle through the current inventory item, or operate control panels or vehicles.
To configure Avast!:
- Open the Settings menu
- Go to the Active Protection tab
- Click Customize on Firewall
- Packet Rules
- Click Add and enter:

- Name:
SoH
- Action:
Allow
- Protocol:
All
- Direction:
In/Out
- Address:
*blank*
- Local Port:
1024-65535
- Remote Port:
16757-16783, ICMP
- Type:
*blank*
- Enabled:
Windows 7 Firewall
To configure Windows 7 Firewall:
- Go to Control Panel
- In the System and Security category
- Enter the Windows Firewall menu
- Click the Advanced Settings link
- In the new window that opens, select Outbound Rules on the left
- Click New Rule on the right
- In the wizard that open, select Port and press Next
- Select UDP and Specific remote ports
- Enter the range:
16757-16783
, press Next - Select Allow the connection, press Next
- Check Domain, Private, and Public, press Next.
- Give it a name, like

in the description - Press Finish
