Shores of Hazeron Source Code
#1
All of the source code used to build Shores of Hazeron is now publicly available on GitHub.

The source is at 'Hazeron-Freehold-LLC/Shores-of-Hazeron' on GitHub. The 'main' branch was created from the branch of my local source code labeled 'au.2022-11.last.multiplayer'. It is all the source needed to build every Shores of Hazeron program. The README contains a lot of general information that could help a programmer put the pieces together.

The yeet bug fix is posted in the 'mainenance/v7b2' branch. It has not been tested. I no longer have a functioning server farm on which to test the server. The code was copied from the Hazeron Starship code, which got another year of work on it after the last multiplayer build.

A bug was also fixed in the maintenance branch that caused solo entry into the designer to be unreliable. Sometimes you just ended up on an empty world.

Be aware that changes in Hazeron Starship mean the .SoH files it creates are not compatible with this Shores of Hazeron code. I can provide details of what changed in the data stream, if you desire that compatibility. It is a lot of work to implement the actual changes the way they function in Hazeron Starship.

I do not intend to continue working on the multiplayer Shores of Hazeron project. Nor do I intend to manage it. The source code is available for your use. Do with it as you will. Just please honor the LICENSE agreement, so that I might be included if you hit the jackpot.

Here's a direct link to the repo for anyone wanting to take a look:

Me and a few others have been working on our own copy of the code, organizing, dockerizing and making fixes and improvements, here:

(Shoutouts to Pip for organizing the project and making it easily runnable with docker, cmake and minGW)

Thank you for opening the game's source to the community and thank you for your work over those many years.

My only regret is that I did not do it sooner.

I applaud this. Also, Haxus, if you just want to enjoy what you've created and just play Hazeron, I think Openshores would definately be welcoming to you!

This is amazing news! Thank you for doing this Haxus!

And if you ever want to enjoy the game again without having the stress of being the main admin and developer, they'll be people managing it. Right now, an open playtest is happening with OpenShores and its been going amazingly! The development work thats been happening has been super fun to follow along as well.

Oni and Cel's regular posts to the discord as they work to reimplement old systems or upgrade current ones has been super fun to follow along with. Last night Oni was able to get oil rigs working again!

The future is looking bright!

Thank you. This is so much more than I was hoping for. There is still nothing else that grabs my attention like the mmo version of Hazeron.

Such an amazing project you created even if it did have its' quirks.

Anyway, time to get back into the studio, new ships need building.

I am sure that you can still come join and play the game too if you want though.
Would be fun seeing you play as a normal player among us all again.

Very nice!

I might have some time soon to actually check out more of the progress on all that here soon. I am itching to play Hazeron multiplayer once again!

Indeed, me and Oni would be happy to give Haxus an architect account to play around with should he want
