After doing some research on the CPUs in those PE1950s, it should be no problem to add another. The power supply should be ample to handle the additional CPU.
Today I am going to consolidate the memory and CPUs of 12 PE1950s into only six. Each will have 2 quad core CPUs and 16GB of RAM.
That will free up 6U of cabinet space. Cabinets are measured in rack units, called U's. Each U is 1.75 inches. PE1950s are 1U boxes.
Yesterday afternoon I ordered three new 2U boxes to fill the void. They will add 192 CPU threads to the game servers (96 hyper threaded cores).
