I'm pretty deeply conflicted on this.
On one hand, this is not the game we knew and loved. It's a more streamlined and focused experience, and I feel Hazeron Starship reflects that narrower scope. It still bares the Hazeron moniker, but it evokes a different feeling - perhaps as it should. On the other, while this is the most radical change Hazeron has experienced, it is not the first. Between changes to planets, buildings, the designer, and multiple galaxies, the game has been reinvented several times over already.
Given that the MMO is gone, I find it appropriate that the latest iteration retain the Shores of Hazeron name. And since Haxus has hinted that multiplayer capability may be in the cards, perhaps there could even be a community-funded official server to connect to, again giving us a unified Hazeron universe.
