2022-04-12 Account Activation, Server Crash

#1
Account Activation
Abandonment decay depends on accounts becoming inactive. The switch to free-to-play is preventing anything from decaying.

Account activation time is now reset to 30 days whenever you login. If the account was inactive, it becomes active.

You can login using Shores of Hazeron, Hazeron Commander, Hazeron Mail, or the accounts page on this web site. You don't have to enter the game universe with an avatar. Simply logging in refreshes the account's activation status.

Accounts become inactive after you have not logged in for 30 days.

The lands that belong to avatars in an inactive account stop being immune to decay. Buildings will begin to disappear.

The process that deactivates accounts is not currently being run, to give people a chance to activate their accounts. That process will start running in a few days. It will deactivate accounts that have not logged in since the update today.

Server Crash
A bug was fixed that caused three servers to crash since the last update.

There have been no SQL deadlocks since the last update.

An empire with no active avatar accounts loses the protection given to an empire with no avatars on line.

Could you please look in to system search function? It crashes most of the time if there is a lot of systems in range, starting from 5-10pc range if all systems are surveyed. Alternatively xml export would be good

There has been reports of cities suffering from abandonment morale penalties and even cities fully decaying. Reportedly even happened while an avatar was online in the solar system over the last week.
Was this maybe a little buggy while you were working on it? Or is it maybe a current issue?

Yeah we saw that.
The game was mostly playable since this update.
Still some limbos, latencies while entering a system and ship getting teleported, but this is nothing compared to one month ago.

Will hazeron stay f2p or you will add a premium membership? Or maybe another business model?
Like switching lands from avatar side to empire side, and every avatar from a premium account  will add 5-10 lands to the empire.

Yeah I think you should go with a Dual Account scheme Haxus. Like Free Accounts decay sooner(14 days), have limited character slots, and a smaller Land Claim size (Max 10? 20?) where as Paid Accounts decay 30 days, have expanded character slots, maybe even access to demi's when gen IV is finished?, and a larger Land Claim size (Max 20? 50?). Food for thought, good work on the updates and nailing down the issues. It has been a frustrating first 30 days.

Buildings and cities have most definitely been decaying. I've had things in land decay, in fact I had to step away from the game for a week due to IRL things coming up and most cities were in some state of decay and many had completely decayed due to "abandonment."

Has this been the case before now? Or was it based only on payment status which no accounts would have while that was offline. Would explain why everyone was experiencing decay, if it was being flagged as 'inactive' despite people being logged in and visiting systems with the cities.

Excellent news!

People were complaining that you need to log in to the accounts section of the website and the ingame login didn't work, but that was before the patch notes here went up. I guess in other words it appears that feature went up a day or two before intended. Do you know of that issue?

Since this update, my avatar get randomly stuck while being on cities, and I have to restart the game. This seems to happen in some cities but no others.

Did you changed something about buildings or terrain?
