favorite or funniest moments in the game

I suggest you tell me your funny or any moments in such a great game when it was still an MMO and alive

Here’s my example: we had the leader Paleolithic, he taught me how to fly a spaceship, and he showed me the handbrake, and I accidentally turned it on at full speed, and we flew into a rock, and the spaceship couldn’t stand it and exploded! no one survived, but it was funny with the Paleolithic reaction

1. My first moonlanding back in 2014 and seeing my homeworld and homecity from the moon's surface. I was in awe. Also the first time leaving the planet.
2. Ordering my crew to fly to orbit while looking down through an opened door.
3. Ordering my crew to fly to orbit while standing at the city and see it fly off by itself.
4. OnePercent and myself taking 3 ships to blockade and capture another empire's planet (I think it was the evil Pony Empire or maybe an empire from the guy behind Rome). One of them came online and we had a nice fight. I had 6 mini ships called troop modules which each had 36 troops and 2 crewmembers parked onboard a larger ship. I remember when I landed one of these one of the people involved called it Zerg. It made me regret not joining larger empires earlier.
5. Trying to move my 100+ ship fleet all at the same time. The game crashed and since that day I decided to separate the fleet over at least 2 systems and never get all of them in the same system again.
6. Just seeing 30+ ships in orbit of my homeworld, neatly parked to make it look like they are in formation.
7. Driving a car onto a dropship, docking it at a larger ship, ordering the crew to fly to another system and doing the same thing in reverse order. So cool.
8. Taking part in this joint diplomatic 20-Arc ringworld with afew other empires. Iirc it was a former Syndicate RW.

These are all mostly memories from 2014-2016. Espcecially the first half of 2014 before the shutdown I would often go to sleep with a huge smile on my face. Someone had told me about a game very similir to this in 1999 or 2000 and ever since that day I dreamed about such a game. I don't know if it was Hazeron or another game, but when I discovered Hazeron it fullfilled this dream and even surpassed it. So much dopamine was released in 2014 :D

But the most memorable moment was when I bought a first ship from hard labor at factories, it was a 3x7x1 courier with minimal drives and cargo.
I flew to the moon, landed at the gem mine and hand harvested some gems to fly back and sell them down at the capital city.
I raised my head and saw the planet in the sky. It was amazing. The twin cities across the stream. Clouds and oceans. Small fireflies of the ships coming and going to supply wharfs.

MY most favorite moment was 2010-ish, when some certain group decided they wanted to dead head to the center of the galaxy.

They made significant progress but the crashes were rough. god i mess those days. this was the game. still one of my most favorite moments. To those still around from those days. i was there with you.

If it is the event I think you are talking about, it supposedly did reach the center.

1. Building my first city and following an old guide on how to setup the first moon base before rocket drives were a thing.
2. TBR invading my money printing system and me and some russian sending in a fleet of 31 Vengeance class battleships, all manned by officers. What a clusterfuck, then taking the fight back to their ringworld system and capping it all.
3. Fighting with the dude from Rome with Ivan, and his swastika ship painted in Donald Trump textures made me lmao for real.
4. Fighting the pony empire with Ivan and him landing his invasion force in minishuttles.
5. Trolling Dean with the French and locating his home planet through triangulation methods from brokers lmaooooo.
6. Designing cool starships.


It was a really inspiring experience playing this game with you all. There is nothing like this still imho. I am with the crowd who believes we should return to the original rules of the game where there is a clear progression, though imo restarts shouldn't be a thing, I want the universe to have a persistence, where empires rise and fall all the time. I don't believe in arbitrary boxes; there must be some system that enables empires to interact organically, while still allowing freedom of travel.

And last but not least: The battle of Gemini against syndicate and Rome/TBR with their stolen Destiny Class battleship that just happened to have thousands of heavy missiles with Raynor, Celarious, Crazy Kristi and a couple of others each manning each station. I think I had fire control at the time. I believe the lines were Tesco/Moonlit aristocracy vs Syndicate/Rome/TBR and it was 4 of our manned ships vs 7 combined TBR, syndicate, Rome ships.

There were countless great moments in this game.

From the beginning where planets where filled with squares, to building champagne empire with both french and non-french bros, all was fun.

But I think one of the most fun parts, and this will surprise absolutely no one here, was hunting down the filthy Deantwo.

Oh, I could go on all day with memorable moments from the glory days...more than in any other video game, Shores of Hazeron made me memories which I keep almost like the memories of my real life: treasured moments with friends, danger, close scrapes: somehow it all meant something in a way the adventures in other games didn't. 

Why? I couldn't fully say, but to begin with, there's the fact that the stakes were always absolute, and you played with real people (who were not necessarily easy to come by). There were no safety nets, nothing that felt gamey and 'balance-y': space felt exactly as dangerous, as lonely and as vast as it should. Meeting other players felt like meeting real aliens, and no other MMO I know with pre-defined races, areas and progression trees has climbed to quite that height.

I remember the times we went diving in the oceans of gas giants, with weird sea things moving outside the ceiling-high windows. The ship's searchlights seemed to penetrate only a few metres into the gloom, and even Haxus started to feel a little unnerved.

I dearly hope we will get some drop-in peer-to-peer multiplayer one day, where your friends can at least kick around on your ship with you for a while - maybe bring their own!

Here are some pics from that day we dived, for a start! The atmospheric light and the aliens watching while my ship (the Zap-o-matic) looms in the air capture the atmosphere of that time, for me.

My best moment ( or worst depending of the pov ), is when i was able to build my first rocket and finaly taken off to space !
And then i was visiting the solar system and landed on a planet...which was made of...liquid methane...^^
So i drowned in it and my rocket was destroyed lol .
That was so awesome indeed !
