Stowaway is a unique start type for avatars.
It starts the player as a stowaway in the vehicle bay of a pirate spacecraft, deep in space. Only basic clothing, a Pistol, and one magazine of Pistol Ammunition are provided.
The player can either fight through the crew and troops to take control of the ship, or hide in the garage and wait until the spacecraft lands on a planet.
Strategies
Hydrogen bombing
The garage which the player spawns in has hydrogen in its storage, which can be accessed through the cargo interface (F5
). The hydrogen can be used as an explosive to take out multiple crew at once.
Take one or two units of hydrogen out of storage, and enter the turbo lift. From there, visit the Crew Cabin and take out the EV Suit and helmet from its storage. Equip both from your inventory.
Then, you'll need to place the can of hydrogen as a trap near the turbolift exit. Simply dropping it works for this.
Next, you'll need to bait the pirates to you. Usually, waiting in the captain's cabin or the troop barracks causes them to arrive after a while, but it is possible to quickly visit the bridge using the turbo lift, and then quickly go back to the previous room and wait for the others to appear. Once they do so, shoot the can of hydrogen with your pistol. This will make it explode, and will hopefully kill all of the enemy pirates.
Hiding
The player is able to simply hide in the garage they spawn in, and wait for the ship to land on a habitable world. Crew and troops do not seem to investigate the garage, so no combat is required.
A vehicle is provided in the garage, which allows for easier exploration when exiting the ship. It may be somewhat dangerous when leaving as the ship has a few manned turrets, however, they appear to be very slow at shooting and shouldn't pose much of a threat.
