Capacitor |
---|
A capacitor is a required subsystem for all spacecraft. It stores the electricity produced by a spacecraft's power plant.
Other subsystems consume electricity from the capacitor. For small ships, such as a shuttle that only has manuever drives and life support, a small amount of capacitor charge is enough to constantly power the ship. A larger capacitor is required if the spacecraft needs to power systems such as FTL drives, energy weapon turrets, or large weapon bays.
