The most plentiful element in the Universe happens to make great rocket fuel.
Hydrogen is used as fuel for the power plants found in space-faring vehicles and spacecraft. Hydrogen can also be used as a shortcut to produce water and fertilizer at a refinery.
Fuel Quality
The quality of hydrogen when used as spacecraft fuel is very important.
Not only does low quality hydrogen yield less electricity than high quality hydrogen, but the rate and severity of the spacecraft's maneuver drive fluctuations are also affected by hydrogen's quality.
Low quality hydrogen fuel can lead to some horrible atmospheric re-entry accidents. However, for the most part a manned engineer station can ease the fluctuations.
