Aircraft Factory No Parking Spots - Deantwo - 05-17-2024

The default aircraft factory (and colony variant) blueprint no longer have parking spots for any vehicles, except for drop pods.

I also can't seem to get a drop pod out of the aircraft factory, maybe it should have a launch system?

Seems like the Old parking spots are causing some problems, the spacecraft I have been using was refusing to transport me down while inside an APC, I just keep getting the message "Vehicle Transporter Not Ready".

The only fix I found was to redesign the ship with the new parking spots, this has fixed the problem, good thing I started a new save and only had the one spacecraft, my previous save was also having this issue and I wouldn't have been able to continue it as I had many spacecraft that had the old parking spots.

There's probably one vehicle assigned to it somewhere out there or there is at least a single drop pod which fills up all spots for other vehicles.


Here's what I discovered when trying to design a vehicle factory with specific and general parking spots (copied from discord):

has 8 specific (2 of each kind) + 2 ground vehicle spots

on one with 4 specific +1 ground spot, i can only make 2 vehicles at a freshly built factory (4 specific=one of each kind)
on one with 4 specific + 5 ground spots I can make 6.
on one with 5 ground spots only, I can make 5

So it seems 4 different specific spots only count for 1 spot, whereas each ground vehicle spot is also 1 spot.
so what I wanted is not possible, if I let SUV autoproduce, it will always fill up all available spots.

if e.g. you construct 2 SUVs, it will fill up the general spots and the specific spot for SUVs and you won't be able to make anything else after that, despite having e.g. a free APC spot until you unassign SUVs.


So in the case of the aircraft factory, if it works in the same way, I guess all the drop pod and spacerocket parking spots count for 1 spot and the two specific spots count as 2 spots. This means that if you have a few drop pods, they clog up everything else.

A freshly built default factory should have 2 spots for spacevehicles, if you unassign newly built ones and don't construct any pods.

I suggest making an aircraft factory with only general space vehicle spots and unassigning spacevehicles that you move to your ship or use personally, until this is fixed.

I will maybe make one if I think of it and feel like it, after the apartments buildings are done.

My vehilce factory with 5 general spots works fine and I just build 1 factory for each type of vehicle.
