Interstellar Rift's ship designer, please just take a look at it. - Ivan - 10-11-2023

Just take a look at it.

It is like an improved and modernised version of the old designer. It gives you the ability to make ships that (at least interiorwise) look close to Star Citizen ships. (It does miss a "Revert" option and the ships have no hull doors, only teleporters)

It has the same "hollow block design" like the old designer had and you have to place systems in a similar fashion, but in much smaller numbers. You e.g. just place 4 guns instead of 3000 gun modules. 5 small and 1 medium Hydrogen generator instead of 2500 Hydrogen generator modules. Unlike in Space Engineers, the ships are a single indivisible entity and spawn in once built, just like in Hazeron.

This kind of designer for just the interior would be much appreciated. It doesn't even have to be for the systems. Just the room layout and door/window placement would be great already. For those who want it, you could still add more details, the same way you currently can, with voids, barriers pathing and all that.

Ship designs would take 30 minutes to 10 hours, instead of 50 to 100 hours.

It would allow for the average player to make a functional design of any size, without getting a burnout.

Even for the exterior would it would be nice, but the current designer does allow for nicer exteriors.

This was actually more or less what I expected when Haxus said he would simplify the designer in ingame chat (after the initial full 3D desinger turned out too hard). Eventually we did get a simplification, but you have to do too many simple repetitive tasks.
