AI-manned ships blowing up near planets (atmospheric stress) - Akynos - 10-29-2020

Starships blowing up as soon as they get close to/land on a planet (AI crew-manned) . Doesn't happen every time, but often enough to be very bothersome.

UPDATE: I don't know if it's the root cause of it, but it seems that AI helmsman doesn't decrease speed early enough to arrive at destination and stop.

Instead, they seem to zigzag repeatedly before the arrival point while waiting for the speed to be low enough.

What type of maneuver drive module was installed on the spacecraft? Rocket drive or gravity drive?
Did the spacecraft have a manned engineering console?
