Gliding Flyer Freezes when pressing Space - Greydog - 04-12-2022
This started after today's patch (4/12/22)
I have 6 alts, all are flyers, 5 are hovers, 1 is a glider. The hover flyers have no issue, this only effects the glider.
I can play fine until I try to lift off. After liftoff I can fly in a straight line, but as soon as I try to turn I freeze up. If I click off screen I can get the cursor back but as soon as I try to do anything other than type the game locks up and stops responding forcing me to kill the process.
edit* .. It seems that as long as I am moving I can fly. If I stop and try to turn it freezes.

I seem to have the same issue though it seems far more prone to happening when I am either near a building (even an air terminal pad) or where a building was.
Additional details.
The menu buttons still work. Chat, Government, and Bio all seem to work. Single exception is that if I try to switch characters I go straight to limbo on them.
The character will not move or rotate in his position.
Backspace will not enter or leave top-down view.
X will not cause a flyer to drop as normal as all movement controls seem locked up.

Exactly this.
This never happen in space, in a spacecraft nor on a planet far from a city. Every time this bug is triggered in a city.
Sometimes I can use comms, building, etc., only the scene is frozen, and sometime the whole game is frozen.
This is easy to reproduce and happens both on windows and debian clients.
EDIT: This happened to me even in a spacecraft, while I began to fly.

I have discovered that if you get your feet on the ground before stopping it does not lock up.
So that narrows the bug down a little further.
- Gliders only
- Only occurs if you try to stop moving while still flying.
Gliders have always had the issue of gliding off on their own while being logged out while in the air. Maybe there's some connection here.

Can confirm. Pressing the spacebar key (Brake in Zero-G or When Flying) while flying with a winged character causes weird behavior: game no longer responds to controls or crashes completely.

Can confirm, trying to fly causes the game to stop taking inputs and I need to relog to fix it

Still have this issue. i rebound the airbrakes(spacebar) to make it harder to accidentally trigger.

If I press spacebar when flying (no vehicle, just the avatar) the game stutters a bit, I'm stuck in the same position, and can't un-hover, then I'm not able to press tab to change the way I interact with the screen. Sometimes it does eventually let me switch interaction modes, but when I try to save the game the game completely freezes.
