Crew no longer respond to a request for a status report on the crew channel. I hold the captain's berth, and they will respond to status requests when hailed from the fleet channel.

Also noticed this.

Did you set the range of your transmission? Crew channel default to system range.

Yes.

Does not work even when standing on the ship itself.

This is fixed, pending the next server update.
