Border Worlds Alliance

The Border Worlds Alliance was founded in 2012. It stemmed from the Federation of Border Worlds, which disintegrated in the prior months due to the pirate crisis. It was an empire which held many colonies throughout the galaxy, most of which were scattered refuelling outposts. This empire used the Dictatorship government type, alongside using the Divina Feles species as its primary species. The empire controlled 21 sectors at its height.

The Early Foundations

The Border Worlds Alliance was reformed by refugees which managed to flee the chaos of the pirate crisis. Some of them were major players in some thriving empires. A large group came from the Pirate Party empire. This empire has risen to capture many core worlds of the cluster shortly after the pirate crisis. The Pirate Party's fleet and army used stealth and lightning attacks to offset their technological inferiority. These people would later on do the bulk of the warfare in the Border Worlds Alliance.

The other large group of people came from the Nomads of the Fading Suns empire. This empire was located close to the Pirate Party empire systems, and excelled mainly in resource extraction, trading and exploration. They would later on form the heart of the economy of the BWA.

Shortly after the capital of BWA was established in the main cluster, the BWA got into a conflict with the Klingon Empire, which lasted until the fall of the Klingon Empire at the hands of a coup and the West Galactic Federation.

War with the Klingons

The Klingons attempted a strike on the BWA homeworld, which managed to obliterate the TL1 equipment on the planet without any problems. Before they could invade the planet, the BWA struck a deal with various parties, most of which were not too happy about the Klingons and their leader, Martok. Almost all of the colonies were transferred to Empire Rocket. It was known that they had amiable relations with the Klingons, but the BWA wouldn't allow the Klingons to seize BWA's colonies by force.

Several warp-capable ships were acquired. Some by allies of the BWA, some by espionage. The ships set off in several directions.

One of them headed for beyond the galactic plane. En route, it was detected that a hostile spy was aboard. This hadn't been detected before due to temporal distortions affecting ship systems and the crew. The spy was eventually disposed. Another of the ships headed for an entirely different direction. The initial goal was to head beyond the galactic rim too, just like the other. But it unexpectedly reached the territories of the Vaygr, and they settled a colony in a backwater system.

The Vor'cha Incident

The BWA started to quickly rebuild their forces. In order to do so at an accelerated pace, espionage operations were prioritized even further. Some people acted as double-agents for the BWA and the Klingons. One of them managed to seize a Vor'cha class vessel. According to the person who delivered it, the ship "Didn't have any doors locked.". The person stated further "Only a fool like Martok doesn't lock their doors or builds their ships without integrated security.". The Vor'cha design was quickly analysed, redesigned and put into production by the BWA shipyards in the Kharak system1.

This infuriated the Klingon leader even more and this started a trail of destruction through the galaxy on behalf of the Klingons. It would eventually lead to the destruction of the Klingons.

Free Stars Alliance

The Free Stars Alliance was for a short while a major player in the Klingon Conflict. BWA was a member of them, and the FSA refused to remove BWA as a member. After weeks of pressure, including the bombing of the FSA capital, the FSA removed the BWA as a member. This decision was opposed by the FSA members and by many empires in the galaxy.

Post-Klingon Conflict Era

The post-Klingon conflict era saw the Klingons going into exile, the West Galactic Federation going into hibernation among other things. The BWA was one of the empires to flourish during this period. The BWA entered into an alliance led by the Dragtopian Alliance. A minor skirmish between one member of the Dragtopian Alliance and a Klingon task force was the first time when BWA ships actively fought a battle against the Klingons. The Klingons' TL32 ship quickly backed off when they saw the designs and capabilities of the BWA TL27 warships, leading to a quick end of the minor conflict.

During this era, the BWA started to build a wide variety of ships, ranging from capital ships to mother-ships to small transports. Many of which were actively sold or given to minor empires to defend against major superpowers.

The BWA war-fleets engaged in a minor conflict with the 404 empire, which was eventually decided when the French Empire joined into the battle. The French Empire had the necessary manpower and skills to achieve the decisive victory.

The BWA collapsed when the universe started to compress and finally was destroyed in the big crunch. The new universe saw several people acting very alike former BWA figures, many of which are located in the Per Ardua Ad Astrum empire.
