Turrets
NPC troops now operate turrets in new ship designs.

Network Activity Indicator
An indicator of network activity appears in the top right corner of the scene.

EVA Ship Moves Away
When I go EVA, the pilot moves the ship away from me persistently, won't let me get close enough to get aboard. This was fixed.

Designer Near Clip Distance
Objects can be viewed at closer range in the designer due to a change to the near clip distance in the view transformation. This means things get clipped closer to the eye camera when you try to get close, particularly noticeable when working on small objects.

NPC Officer Bug
Fixed a bug with officers, that caused a ship to be treated as if it had no officer at all when no officer had the con. The bug caused these problems when no human player was on line aboard a ship:
  • Turrets would not fire unless the officer aboard had the con.
  • Ships would be destroyed by dark matter if the officer did not have the con.
  • Bay weapons would not fire if an officer did not have the con.
Door Sounds in New Ships
Doors now make sounds when opening and closing in the new ship designs.

Tractor Beam
Tractor beam effect should now be visible when deployed from a new ship design.

Shield Bubble
Shield bubble effect is now visible on new ship designs.

Smoke and Fire
Smoke and fire effects should now be visible on new ship designs.

Delayed Ship Door Sound Bug
An ancient bug was finally fixed that caused space ship hull door sounds to be delayed when entering from the outside. e.g. EVA to ship in orbit. Open door. Wait around for a long time. Go through the door. >Clunk< door sound is heard as if it just opened.

Turbo Lift Call
When moving a turbo lift, it is now called like an elevator so you don't have to keep pushing the button until it is ready to move. It moves in response to the last call, when it is ready to move so you only have to select a stop one time.

Still wishing we had separate light and heavy turrets.

Sounds good. I'll have to see it, but if it is annoying it might be a good idea to have an option to hide it.
Can it show ping/latency in a tooltip?

I do believe I asked once if the HUD supports tooltips, would be useful for the health bars and such. As in to help new players find out what they are and maybe give the numeric values without having to open the Bio window. Not to mention tooltips for active item/ability.

This only happened if the ship didn't have an officer, but it was still very annoying.

I was just wondering, is the smoke/fire still huge and only at the center of the design?
Would be cool if the smoke appeared at contrail emitter location if the engines were damaged, and maybe weapon emitters if weapons were damaged.

Can likely come up with more, but just have it not always be huge and at the center might make it look a lot better.

Are interior turrets a problem? Would they damage the ship if they miss?

As long as turrets use anti-ship weapons, I would assume that more-than-friendly-fire is possible.
