Haxus, be sure to check out the feature/parity requests at viewtopic.php?f=3&t=8920 when you have your burning list for updates done. Once its all fleshed out a bit I'll do some modeling comparisons in blender and the in game one to look at general flow and ease of use.

Should I feel bad about the ton of bug reports I have made over the last two months? ^^;
I invalidate your reality and wait for it to be refreshed.

Don't worry, the longer you wait, the better it will be! Haha

I made a window jig and when I go to cut it makes the cut off center of the actual jig.

The jig in question is triangular and one side of the jig is smaller then the other. (i.e. The part of the jig that's goes into the room is smaller then the portion outside (kinda like a wedge like shape)

If I had to guess it it might have something to do with trying to make a slanted window or how close the edges of the jig are to the edges of the face I'm trying to punch it though

yeah make sure your jigs always extend past the faces you're cutting through. it would be nice if the designer automatically rejected any attempt to make something paper thin :^)

My jig does extend past the faces I'm cutting though...

Here's a picture of what I'm talking about. (EDIT: You're going to have to right click on the picture and open it in a new tab... it's to wide for the forums format apparently.)

Left side is the pucture of the jig before use, right is after. Note that there is a gab between the jig and the face. When I make the cut it doesn't cut exactly how the jig is shaped. It's hard to explain.

ahhh i see now. i think that's happened to me before; it bugs out and makes extra faces whenever you make a cut at a weird angle.

I've encountered a crash in the new designer. I've been able to replicate it over and over again and I think it has something to do with the complexity of the window I'm trying to make

After making the jig and positioning it I attempt to cut the jig which causes the editor to crash.

Link to picture of the jig and positioning, picture itself to large to post on the forums:

I'm curious as to how much of the modeling can be done in Blender then exported into the designer. It's probably because I'm used to blender, but I find it's tools easier to use and have a more intuitive, finer control over the mesh. So I'd like to know just how much I can get done before export.

- I assume window lighting and door operation won't function unless they are created with the jig ..correct?
- Do rooms need to be created in the designer or can they be imported with the rest of the mesh. Is there anything special about them that requires the designer?
- Can I create things like chairs and consoles in blender and make them functional?

thanks
I plan on living forever ..so far so good!
